Yogurt "Recipes" & Parfait Ideas

As you may have notice above, I have "recipes" in quotes. That is for the simple reason for there really is no "recipe", but there are combos to enjoy the best dairy treat there is.  Yes, I'm partial -- I love yogurt!

On this page you will see some of my own personal favorite combos and what I like to throw on my yogurt. There is no set rules here, throw what you will! Most times if it's fruity, salty, crunchy, or sweet... it will taste yummy with yogurt,  It took awhile for me to appreciate plain yogurt. For a long time I didn't have the palette for it, and I am not very fussy. It was sour, bland, and had to be dressed up a bit. No lie, it had to be dressed up a lot. Until I found Greek Plain yogurt.

There are some brands better than others, but that is all preference.  I also like a good vanilla yogurt, and I will name drop here. Dannon makes a Light N' Fit in a purple container (vanilla), and it is absolutely delicious! Now they make the same in Greek!

Yay for Greek, because if you are a healthy food geek as I am, you will be thrilled to know there is 5x more protein in a serving of Greek yogurt, than regular yogurt. Plain Greek yogurt with honey is amazing.

Have fun with trying new combos, and brands. You don't need a whole lot per serving, especially if you will be adding lots of goodies to it to make it the best snack/meal ever!

P-A-R-F-A-I-T-S

I found exactly what I was thinking right on Pinterest.

Get your layering on,  inside of a good ol' Mason Jar! The best part is you can make these ahead and pack them to go!

Plus they look amazing and everyone will be curious of what you've got! Going on a little road trip? Skip the store bought garbage and have the kids help create their own creations and pack them to go!

Looking for a birthday cake substitute? How about a Parfait Party? Have several fruits, and toppings available and several kinds of yogurt. It is so much fun once you get your creativity kicked into gear! I hope that you are now officially on a parfait kick! You're welcome.
